Jolly St. Nick

Before Santa Claus became the rosy-cheeked, round-bellied figure we know today, his image was far less standardized and varied greatly across cultures. In early depictions, he often appeared as a lean, saintly figure inspired by St. Nicholas, a 4th-century Greek bishop known for his generosity. In fact, the attire we've come to love since childhood was originally green and white and was altered as part of a 1930's advertising campaign by Coca-Cola! Got fun facts for us?
