Kroger’s new partnership makes grocery delivery easier than ever

Picture this: your fridge is running low, the thought of battling long checkout lines feels exhausting, and you’d rather spend your time on just about anything else.

For millions of Americans, that scenario is all too familiar.

Now, Kroger is aiming to change it.

The grocery giant has launched a nationwide program with DoorDash that brings fresh groceries and household essentials to your door in as little as one hour.

It’s not just about speed—it’s about making shopping simpler, more comfortable, and more accessible for everyone.

Groceries at your doorstep in one hour

Kroger, based in Cincinnati, Ohio, operates more than 2,700 stores across the country under banners like Ralphs, Fred Meyer, Mariano’s, and Harris Teeter.

On October 1, Kroger announced a new nationwide partnership with DoorDash.

This rollout isn’t limited or experimental—it covers nearly every Kroger store in the US.

Customers can now order anything from produce to private-label “Our Brands” products with delivery as fast as one hour.

How it works

Ordering is straightforward.

Just open the DoorDash app, select your local Kroger or affiliated store, and browse the full grocery selection.

Digital coupons, weekly specials, and loyalty perks are fully integrated, so you don’t miss out on savings.

As Yael Cosset, Kroger’s executive vice president and chief digital officer, explained: “We want to provide customers what they want, how they want it, without asking them to compromise on value.”

Prabir Adarkar, president and COO of DoorDash, added: “With Kroger now on DoorDash nationwide, millions of customers can shop the largest grocer on our platform with the convenience of on-demand delivery.”

Why it matters for older Americans

For many over 60, grocery shopping can be tiring or physically difficult.

Having fresh food delivered to your doorstep helps reduce stress, saves time, and removes the hassle of lifting heavy bags or standing in long lines.

And because loyalty discounts and digital coupons still apply, you don’t have to trade savings for convenience.

The rise of digital grocery shopping

Kroger’s digital sales already total $13 billion a year, about 9% of its overall business.

Delivery sales are up 20% this year, while overall digital sales have grown 15%.

By teaming up with DoorDash, Kroger is betting that more customers—especially those looking for ease and comfort—will make online shopping their go-to.

What to expect with fees and service

DoorDash typically charges delivery fees, though promotions often provide free or discounted delivery.

Customers can also set preferences for substitutions, and the app notifies you if an item is out of stock.

Support is available directly through the app if problems arise.
