Laundry Wringer

Do you remember helping out on wash day with an old-fashioned laundry wringer? The crank, the rollers, and the satisfying squish as the water squeezed out—it was a chore, but also a memory many of us share. Did your family have one in the basement or out on the back porch? Tell us your stories! And were there other household gadgets from your childhood that left a lasting impression? Post them in the forum!

My family had a double tub wringer washer on front porch. Monday was wash day. First heated water on stove then carried out to washer. Second side was for rinse water. Start with white clothes and finished with Dad's bibbed overalls. Clothes hung on line. In winter we had freeze dried clothes.

We had one, when I was 5 I tried helping my Mom, well, I didn't let go of clothing and got my arm caught in the wringer! Screaming bloody murder, scared my Mom to death! I still have a little scar on my arm from 1965!😂
