Longest Time Breath Was Held
Did you know that a 56-year-old currently holds the world record for the longest time breath was held underwater?
On March 27, 2021, freediver Budimir Šobat set the new record with an astonishing time of 24 minutes and 37.36 seconds—beating the previous record by 34 seconds! He accomplished this incredible feat to promote his hometown in Croatia, which was impacted by a powerful earthquake.
Remarkably, Budimir only began freediving at the age of 48. He believes his age gave him the wisdom and experience to remain calm during crucial moments. His greatest motivation, however, was his daughter, who has autism. Breaking the record not only gave him a platform to spread awareness but also highlighted the importance of resilience and dedication. Isn't he truly inspiring?
