A couple on their way to get married had an unexpected detour—they were in a fatal accident and found themselves waiting at the pearly gates.
While St. Peter handled their entry paperwork, the two began to wonder aloud: Could they still get married in heaven?
When St. Peter finally returned after months of searching, he confirmed they could.
But that got them thinking again—what if it didn’t work out? Could they get a divorce, too?
At that, St. Peter threw his clipboard to the ground and exclaimed:
“It took me three months to find a priest up here—do you have any idea how long it’ll take to find a lawyer?”
