Mexican Hot Chocolate

Warm up your day with this rich and creamy Mexican Hot Chocolate, a comforting blend of velvety milk, fragrant cinnamon, and authentic chocolate with just a hint of spice. Perfect for sipping by the fire or sharing with loved ones, it’s a delightful trip down memory lane in every cup!

Ingredients:
4 cups whole milk
1 cinnamon stick
3 Mexican hot chocolate drink tablets
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Pinch of ground cayenne or ancho chili powder (optional)

Directions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat 4 cups of whole milk and a cinnamon stick over medium heat until the milk starts to steam. Add the Mexican hot chocolate drink tablets and whisk until melted and combined, leaving a few flecks of chocolate for texture.
  2. Remove the pan from heat and discard the cinnamon stick. Stir in the vanilla extract, salt, and optional cayenne for a hint of spice. Whisk vigorously for 3-4 minutes until the hot chocolate becomes frothy, or use a blender for 1-2 minutes to achieve a velvety finish. Serve piping hot and enjoy!
