Mic Check At The Altar
At a lovely church wedding, just as the ceremony was getting to the vows, the pastor looked out at the guests and said those familiar words:
"If anyone has any reason why this couple should not be joined in holy matrimony, speak now or forever hold your peace."
The room went quiet.
Then, suddenly, a beautiful young woman stood up at the back—holding a baby in her arms. She started slowly walking down the aisle.
Gasps filled the church.
The bride turned red as a beet and slapped the groom.
The groom’s mother fainted right into her pew.
The groomsmen exchanged panicked looks, unsure whether to intervene or run.
The organist stopped playing.
Finally, the pastor managed to calm everyone down and gently asked the woman:
“Miss, do you have something to say?”
She looked around, blinked, and said:
“Oh no, Reverend—we just couldn’t hear anything from the back.”
