Miller Lite is giving away 50,000 beers—here’s how to claim yours

Miller Lite is preparing a nationwide toast, and fans of the classic American lager have a reason to mark their calendars.

This summer, the brand is honoring its 50th anniversary by giving away tens of thousands of beers to loyal drinkers.

In true celebratory fashion, Miller Lite is tying the event to a global holiday, offering locals and travelers alike a chance to raise a free cold one. Whether you’re headed to your neighborhood bar or staying home, there’s a way to join in.

On Friday, August 1, Miller Lite will give away 50,000 free beers in celebration of International Beer Day.

More than 500 bars across the US will participate in the event, each offering one complimentary Miller Lite per guest, with age and availability restrictions.

The company clarified there’s a strict one-can-per-person limit in effect nationwide. Those not near a participating location can still take part through a virtual alternative listed on the brand’s official website.

The beer giant’s flagship event will take place in Milwaukee, where Miller Lite is hosting a New Year’s Eve-style “Beer Drop” at its brewery.

The six-pack-inspired installation will release cans one by one at exactly 4:50 p.m. local time, with livestreams showing similar countdowns across time zones.

“No matter where you are when the clock strikes 4:50PM, it’s Miller Time,” the company said in a statement. Fans watching from home or at bars can catch the spectacle live online.

To find your closest participating location, Miller Lite directs users to visit millerlite.com/find-celebration and enter their state.

The digital tool will generate a full list of nearby bars offering the promotion, though some venues may impose local limits or exclusions.

Only guests 21 or older will be eligible to receive the offer, and bars will enforce ID verification. Supplies are capped, so early arrival is encouraged for those hoping to claim a can.

This summer’s celebration also includes special packaging, as Miller Lite released limited-edition gold cans earlier in the season.

The brand partnered with comedian Marcello Hernandez of “Saturday Night Live” to help launch the anniversary campaign. The series of events is positioned as a tribute to the drinkers who have kept Miller Lite in circulation for half a century.

“The 50th anniversary is just more than a milestone for Miller Lite, it’s a celebration of our fans and the five decades we’ve spent together enjoying Miller Time,” said Ann Legan, the brand’s VP of Marketing.
