Popping payout! This fizzy favorite could score you up to $80

Hey, soda lovers! If you've ever indulged in a can of Poppi, the trendy prebiotic soda claiming to boost gut health, you might be in for a surprise—and possibly some cash.

A recent class-action lawsuit has bubbled up, and it could mean money back in your pocket, even if you can't dig up a proof of purchase.

Here's the fizz on what's happening and how you could claim your share.

Poppi has been riding the wave of wellness trends with its colorful cans and catchy slogan, “Soda's back, but it's better.”

The company has marketed its fizzy drink as a gut-friendly option, boasting prebiotics from agave inulin and cassava root fiber.

These ingredients, they claim, are the secret sauce to feeding the healthy bacteria in your gut.

But what seemed like a guilt-free pleasure has turned a bit sour.

A class-action lawsuit filed in June 2024 alleges that Poppi's health claims might be more effervescent than the drink itself.

The lawsuit, which has been stirring up quite the conversation, was filed in a California federal court.

It challenges the advertised benefits of Poppi's prebiotics, suggesting that to truly reap the gut health rewards, one would need to consume at least four cans a day.

However, this level of consumption could lead to an increased sugar intake, potentially negating the prebiotic benefits.

Angela, a lawyer known for her social media breakdowns of legal matters, has been shedding light on the lawsuit.

Her video on the subject has garnered over 15,600 views, indicating that this is a topic many are thirsty for information on.

Here's where it gets interesting for consumers.

Angela explains that under the proposed settlement, you could be entitled to a refund of 75 cents for each single can, $3 for a four-pack, $6 for an eight-pack, and $9 for a 12-pack or 15-pack of Poppi products purchased. And the flavor doesn't matter.

But what if you're someone who doesn't keep a meticulous record of every purchase?

Well, you're not out of luck. Even without a receipt, you could be entitled to up to $16 back from the company.

And depending on the number of claims filed, that amount could fizz up to a whopping $80.

If the court approves the settlement, a website will be set up for consumers to file their claims: PoppiSettlement.com. So, keep an eye out for this, and don't let the opportunity pop away.
