Quote Of The Day 06.13.25

“Good friends, good books, and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal life.”
Mark Twain

There’s something about this quote that just makes me smile—like a warm cup of coffee and a good chat with someone who really gets you.

I truly believe it’s the little comforts, the small joys, that make life feel rich: a dog-eared novel you’ve read three times, a friend who calls just to say hi, going to bed knowing you were kind, helpful, or simply present.

What’s your version of the “ideal life”? Is it a good book? A daily walk? A front porch chat at sunset? We’d love to hear what makes your days feel full—share your story in the comments below!

Having some friends who are still alive! Knowing my job was a job that I wanted and enjoyed it for many wonderful years! I know there is a phrase about this situation. If you love your job you will never work a day in your life! I happen to agree as it was my experience! Catching both sunrises and sunsets. While serving in the Air Force for 20 years in North Dakota we had wide open skies not having big populations and city lights blocking the sky! The views were FANTASTIC! We saw the Northern Lights many times. No it wasn’t the big spectrum of colors seen in Alaska, but quite beautiful!
