Some blooms burst open at the first hint of spring, while others take their time, waiting for the perfect moment. People are much the same. We all grow, change, and reach our milestones at different paces—and that’s okay. The beauty is in knowing that your time will come, whether it’s chasing a long-held dream, picking up a long-forgotten hobby, or finally feeling ready for a new chapter.
I think of several people I know who wanted to learn something, but life kept getting in the way. At 30, my brother-in-law learned to swim so he could join my nephew in the pool. At 60, my old professor took up painting. I’ve always wanted to try pottery—maybe it’s time I do.
