Before you add that extra kick to your next meal, you'll want to read this important safety announcement.
A popular kitchen staple known for adding bold flavor has just been pulled from store shelves.
Could it be in your home?
A flavor mix-up sparks health concerns
T.W. Garner Food Company, the maker behind Texas Pete® sauces, is recalling specific bottles of two products: Habanero Buffalo Sauce and Sweet CHAbanero Sweet Sriracha Habanero Sauce.
The reason? The Habanero Buffalo Sauce may mistakenly contain Sriracha Sauce—a swap that isn't just about taste.
According to the company, the Sriracha contains sulfites, which are not listed on the label of the Habanero Buffalo Sauce.
This undeclared ingredient could pose life-threatening risks to people with a sulfite allergy or sensitivity.
Mislabeling continues with a second product
The recall also affects Sweet CHAbanero Sauce, which fails to include Aged Peppers—a key labeled ingredient made of red habanero peppers, salt, and vinegar.
While this may not be a direct allergen risk, the omission could mislead consumers with dietary preferences or sensitivities.

Consumers are urged to throw away the affected bottles or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
The company has confirmed that no illnesses have been reported as of now.
