Under the warm stage lights, during WWII, the 1st Regiment’s orchestra swings into action at a Black USO club in Anniston, Alabama. In a world of segregation, these clubs were rare havens where Black servicemen could unwind. Through jazz, blues, and swing, these musicians did more than entertain—they lifted spirits and kept the rhythm of resilience alive. What type of music did you enjoy during this time?
