Sharks Came Before Forests
Before there were towering trees… there were sharks.
Shark ancestors date back around 450 million years, according to fossil evidence and evolutionary studies.
Trees, as we recognize them, didn’t appear until much later—some of the earliest tree‑like plants emerged around 350 to 385 million years ago.
That means sharks were already exploring Earth’s ancient oceans tens of millions of years before forests existed on land.
