Ingredients:
  • 1 (8 ounce) tube crescent dough sheet
  • 4 ounces reduced-fat cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract, divided
  • 1/2 cup cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk, or as needed
Directions:
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the crescent dough sheet into 10 equal rounds without unrolling it. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Indent each round by pressing the back of a tablespoon into the center.
  4. Make the filling: In a bowl, beat cream cheese, white sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract with an electric mixer until smooth. Spoon a dollop into each dough indentation.
  5. Bake for 8 minutes.
  6. Add cherry filling: Remove from the oven and add a spoonful of cherry pie filling (about 4–5 cherries) to each Danish.
  7. Return to oven and bake for another 9 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Make the glaze: Whisk together confectioners’ sugar, remaining 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, and just enough milk to make a pourable glaze.
  9. Drizzle glaze over warm Danishes and serve.
