Spicy Banana Bars with Caramel Icing
2 cups flour
1-1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 Eggs
2/3 cup chopped nuts(opt)
1/2 cup milk
1-1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 cup softened butter
1/4 cup ripened Bananas mashed
Cream butter, sugar, bananas, blend thoroughly Blend in eggs, beat well. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Stir in nuts. Pour into a greased jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees 20/25 minutes or til checked done.
Icing---I always use. Caramel Icing
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup milk
1-3/4 to 2 cups powdered sugar
Melt butter in saucepan over low heat. Add brown sugar bring to boil over low heat, stir constantly. Stir in milk carefully bring to a boil. Remove from heat, let cool. Gradually add powdered sugar beat til thick enough to spread, If gets too thick add a tiny dab of hot water.
