Summer savings alert: ALDI drops prices on 400+ items—up to 33% off

It’s not a sale. It’s not a clearance. But it could change how much you spend at the grocery store this summer.
With food prices still weighing on many families, ALDI is stepping in.
Big cuts, small receipts
ALDI has announced wide-ranging price cuts on hundreds of everyday products.
And this isn’t just about a few cents off here and there—it’s real savings.
Starting June 5, more than 400 items will be discounted by as much as 33% through Labor Day. The goal? Make summer easier on shoppers' wallets.
According to its chief commercial officer, the chain will be reducing prices on nearly 25% of all products in stores nationwide.
That includes popular items like meat, produce, snacks, and frozen foods.

Why now?
About 67% of Americans still say they’re very concerned about the cost of food and household goods.
That’s according to a recent Pew Research Center survey of more than 3,500 adults.
And with the cost of summer living—cookouts, road trips, and family activities—stacking up, the grocery chain says it wants to help.
"Summer’s for grilling out, camping, concerts, and quality time with friends and family—not stressing over grocery bills,” the company’s CCO said.
“Our customers loved it because they could stock up on summer staples without stretching their budgets. Aldi has always been known for quality at low prices, and when we can deliver even more savings for our shoppers, we do," he added.
What kinds of products are cheaper?
From snacks to pantry staples, here are a few early examples of what’s going down in price:
How much could shoppers save?
The company says the seasonal price cuts could collectively save Americans around $100 million this summer alone.
That’s on par with what it saved shoppers during similar efforts last year—and well above the $60 million saved in 2023.
“Last year’s shopper response was overwhelming,” the spokesperson said. “They could stock up without stretching their budgets.”
A growing presence in the US
The retailer isn’t just cutting prices—it’s expanding fast. This year, it plans to open 225 more stores across the country.
Already, nearly 1 in 4 households shop there regularly. That number could grow quickly, especially if prices elsewhere remain high.
With a business model focused on smaller stores, private-label products, and tight supplier partnerships, the chain says it can offer savings competitors can’t match.
What this means for your grocery bill
The price drops won’t be flashy. But they’re happening on everyday items people buy again and again.
And in a summer where every dollar counts, saving a little on each trip can add up fast.
Especially when you’re feeding a family, planning weekend getaways—or just trying to beat the heat without burning your wallet.
Watch for the new prices starting now
The discounts began June 5 and will run until Labor Day.
That means shoppers have the whole summer to take advantage.
It might not stop inflation—but it could offer some much-needed breathing room.
