Sunday Classics 08.24.2025
Hey GrayViners!
Nothing starts the week off quite like good music—and you all know how to pick them. Last week, we asked for your favorite timeless tunes, and you delivered a list of classics that had us humming along all week long. After all the reactions and votes came in, we have a winner to spotlight…
Drumroll please… The winner is “Smooth Operator” by Sade, suggested by our very own GrayViner @Hazeleyes !

Now here’s a little something to make you smile while you play it again in your head: "Smooth Operator" was released in 1984 and quickly became Sade’s breakthrough hit in the United States. It climbed the charts all the way to number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, and it remains one of her most recognizable songs. The tune perfectly blends jazz, soul, and pop into that velvety sound we all know—and who can forget that iconic saxophone riff?
Fun fact: Sade’s real name is Helen Folasade Adu, and before she became an international star, she studied fashion design in London. Talk about smooth career moves!
Now it’s your turn again, GrayViners! Drop your Sunday Classics suggestions—just the title and singer—in the comments below.
Remember, the pick with the most reactions will take the crown and be featured in next week’s newsletter. So dust off those records, think of the songs that always get your toes tapping, and share them with us!
What’s your Sunday Classic this week?
Cheers!
Blue
