The Fastest Thing Known to Man
A Walmart manager needed to fill a job opening. After sifting through a pile of resumes, he narrowed it down to four equally qualified candidates. He decided he’d ask them just one question, and their answers would determine who got the job.
On interview day, the four sat around a conference table. The manager asked, “What’s the fastest thing you know of?”
The first man answered, “A thought. It just pops into your head without warning.”
“Good answer,” said the manager.
The second man replied, “A blink. It happens so quickly you hardly notice it.”
“Excellent,” the manager nodded.
The third man said, “Out on my dad’s ranch, you flip a switch in the house, and instantly the light in the barn comes on. Nothing’s faster than light.”
The manager was impressed. “Hard to beat the speed of light,” he said.
Then he turned to Bubba, the last candidate. Bubba said, “That’s easy—diarrhea.”
The manager blinked. “Diarrhea?”
“Yep,” said Bubba. “The other day I wasn’t feeling well. I ran for the bathroom, but before I could think, blink, or turn on the light… I’d already had an accident.”
Bubba is now the new greeter at a Walmart near you.
