The Mystery Driver
Two lifelong friends, both well into their golden years, were out for a drive in a big, comfortable sedan. Neither could see much more than the top of the steering wheel, but they were enjoying the ride and chatting away.
As they rolled up to a busy intersection, the light turned red… and they sailed right through. The woman in the passenger seat blinked and thought, “Hmm… I must be seeing things. That sure looked like a red light.”
A few minutes later, another big intersection… another red light… and again, straight through. Now she was certain something was off, but she bit her tongue.
When the third red light came and went without so much as a tap on the brakes, she couldn’t hold it in any longer. “Mildred!” she shouted. “Do you realize we’ve just run three red lights? You could have killed us!”
Mildred turned, eyes wide, and said, “Oh my goodness… am I driving?”
