The music world is abuzz with the kind of news that can only be described as a treasure trove for fans and historians alike.
Bruce Springsteen, the iconic rock 'n' roll troubadour whose anthems have become the soundtrack of America's soul, is about to turn the key to a secret vault.
Are you ready for this major drop?
Inside this vault is a staggering collection of 83 previously unreleased tracks, spanning seven full-length albums, all waiting to be discovered by the public for the very first time.
Dubbed Tracks II: The Lost Albums, this monumental release of “full-length records” is set for June 27 through Sony Music, and it's not just a handful of B-sides or forgotten demos.

These are complete, polished works that have been hidden away, some mixed and ready to go, yet never before shared with the world—until now.
The Boss himself, in a statement that has sent ripples of excitement through the E Street Nation, expressed his joy in finally sharing these works: “I’ve played this music to myself and often close friends for years now. I’m glad you’ll get a chance to finally hear them. I hope you enjoy them.”

The scope of this release is breathtaking. The music was penned and recorded over a span of 35 years, from 1983 to 2018, with a significant portion originating from the 1990s—a decade that Springsteen humorously defends against the notion of being his “lost” period.
"I often read about myself in the '90s as having some 'lost' period or something," Springsteen said via YouTube on Thursday, using his fingers for ironic quote marks.

In an online teaser, he playfully dismissed the idea with air quotes, assuring fans that he was, in fact, quite busy creating during that time.
One of the tracks, Rain in the River, has already been released, giving us a tantalizing taste of what's to come. Out of the 83 songs on these albums, 74 have never been heard ever before by the public, said Springsteen.

“‘The Lost Albums’ were full records, some of them even to the point of being mixed and not released,” Springsteen said in a statement. “I’ve played this music to myself and often close friends for years now. I’m glad you’ll get a chance to finally hear them. I hope you enjoy them.”
Springsteen’s 1984 album Born in the USA became his biggest commercial hit, earning 17-times platinum certification.

Although his follow-up records enjoyed success, they didn’t reach the same iconic status as Born. Reflecting on that era, Springsteen said he finds it amusing that many people assumed he was "lost" or directionless throughout the 1990s.
The albums, with evocative titles like LA Garage Sessions '83, Streets of Philadelphia Sessions, Somewhere North of Nashville, Inyo, Twilight Hours, Perfect World, and Faithless, were fine-tuned during the pandemic, a period that many artists have used to reflect and revisit past works.

As we eagerly await the drop of these albums, speculation is also mounting about a potential biopic on The Boss entitled Deliver Me From Nowhere. The film will star The Bear actor Jeremy Allen White, playing as The Boss.
While no release date has been set for the film, it's expected to grace screens later this year or early next, offering an intimate look at the man behind the music.
