This simple trick could get you more food at Wendy’s for less—here’s how

When it comes to fast food, the best deals aren’t always front and center. While restaurants promote their value menus, there are often hidden ways to stretch your dollar even further—if you know where to look.

Thanks to one Wendy’s employee, budget-conscious customers now have a new trick to maximize their orders.

Wendy’s has long been known for affordable meal deals like the Four for $4 and the $5 Biggie Bag. But according to a social media user @secretlystacked, there’s a way to get even more value out of your Biggie Bag without breaking the bank.

In a video that has gained widespread attention with over 1.7 million views, the employee reveals that customers can upgrade their Biggie Bag meal—which includes a small drink and small fries—for just a small upcharge.

“I don’t know who needs to hear this, but y’all be wasting hella money at Wendy’s buying them large combos,” @secretlystacked says. “You can get a $5 Biggie Bag and upgrade it to a large for $0.80.”

@secretlystacked explains that upgrading to a large drink and fries only costs $0.80, a fraction of what these items cost separately.

“I don’t think y’all realize that a large fry is like almost $4 and a large drink is almost $4, so you’re pretty much paying $0.80 for $8 worth of upgrades,” they say. “Of course, Wendy’s isn’t going to advertise that. But yes, you can upgrade your meal for way less than buying those items on their own.” To drive the point home, they urge customers to be smart about their orders.

“Quit letting these fast food places play with you,” @secretlystacked says. “$0.30 for a medium upgrade, $0.80 for a large. Get the large fry and large drink with your Biggie Bag. Save that money.”

The revelation sparked widespread reactions, with many viewers expressing surprise that this option existed.

“Omg we can upgrade?????!!!!” one commenter wrote. “I had no idea, but thanks for sharing.”

“When Biggie Bags came out they didn’t allow you to upgrade,” another added. “I’ve realized recently they allow you to now!”

Even Wendy’s official account chimed in, commenting, “How did I not know this? I am so bad at math.”

However, some pointed out that while this trick upgrades the fries and drink, it doesn’t change the size of the burger.

“It doesn’t change the size of the burger though,” one person noted. “It only changes the drink and fries—you still get a small burger.”

“I’d rather have a bigger burger than bigger soda or fries,” another said. “Those sandwiches are literally four bites for a grown adult.”

For those unfamiliar, Wendy’s $5 Biggie Bag includes:
  • A small beverage
  • Small French fries
  • Four-piece chicken nuggets
  • Choice of a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger or Crispy Chicken Sandwich
The deal is a follow-up to Wendy’s popular Four for $4, which includes a Jr. Cheeseburger, small fries, four chicken nuggets, and a small drink. While the Four for $4 is still available at some locations, it’s not as widespread as it once was.

So, next time you're at Wendy's and considering a Biggie Bag, remember this insider tip. Upgrade your meal for a fraction of the cost and enjoy the extra treats.
