Times Square New Year's Eve

Did you know? The first-ever New Year’s Eve celebration in Times Square was actually thrown in honor of a newspaper! In 1904, when the area was still known as Longacre Square, the New York Times hosted the very first New Year’s Eve party to celebrate the completion of their new headquarters. The event was so successful that it became an annual tradition, marking the beginning of the iconic Times Square Ball Drop we know today. So next time you're ringing in the new year, remember it all started with a newspaper's big move! If you have a fun fact, post it in the comments below or start a new thread here!
