Would You Rather? 05.26.2025

How are you doing, dear GrayViners? :giggle:

What are you up to this lovely afternoon? I (Emerald) hope you're feeling bright and energized, but if today’s been a bit sluggish, let’s turn it around together. Here’s a little something to wake up our senses: Would you rather have a stronger sense of smell, hearing, or sight—and why?

Would you go for super vision that sees it all, a sharp sense of smell that picks up even the faintest scent, or finely tuned hearing that picks up the smallest sounds? Personally, I’d choose smell, mostly because I think it would make food taste even better. (Although I can see how that might backfire…)

Enough about me—what would YOU pick? Share your answer in the comments below and see what your fellow GrayViners will choose!

Hearing Have been dealing with an ear issue since December and a constant ear ache. Had an ENT appt they canceled now til July. Really cuts down your social life. Just alot of stuffed feeling making you wish you could get in there and dig deep to get what ever it is out.

I would not want to lose either one of them.
I would prefer a hightened sense of hearing. With heightened hearing I could hopefully be safer by being able to hear most things coming near me. I could be safer.

Super vision. I read quite a lot and mess with my tablet. I can't read a book because the print is too small. I can't read a magazine. I do get Readers Digest large print edition

Thanks for sharing what you’re going through @Arkie98 — that sounds really frustrating. Hearing issues can definitely make socializing a lot harder. Hopefully your appointment in July comes around quickly and you get some relief soon!

Thank you for sharing your perspective @Gayle B. . A heightened sense of hearing for safety makes a lot of sense — it’s a great way to stay more aware of your surroundings.

Thanks for sharing @Gibb . Super vision would be such a game changer, especially when you enjoy reading so much. It’s great that you’ve found a large print option like Reader’s Digest — every bit helps!

I want my sights. My mom is totally blind and I understand and see the challenges that go with it. I also like adventure so want to be able to still travel and see and know what is going on.
