You won't believe the creepy note this woman found in her work Secret Santa gift!

In the spirit of holiday camaraderie, office Secret Santa exchanges are meant to be a delightful reprieve from the daily grind, a chance to share a laugh and show appreciation for our colleagues.

But for one woman, this festive tradition took a dark and unsettling turn, as revealed in a viral social media video that has left the internet both horrified and perplexed. What would you do if you were in her shoes?

Imagine the anticipation of unwrapping a Secret Santa gift, only to find that it's not just inappropriate—it's potentially dangerous.

This was the reality for a woman who shared her story on social media, recounting the moment she realized her Secret Santa gift was a homemade pecan pie, accompanied by a note that read, “homemade, just for you.”

Sounds thoughtful, right? Not quite. The problem? She's severely allergic to nuts, a fact she had communicated clearly after receiving an anonymous email inquiring about food allergies.

The social media user’s reaction was one of shock and fear: “I will never participate in another secret Santa,” she declared. The gift, which should have been a gesture of goodwill, instead felt like a blatant disregard for her well-being—or worse, a malicious act.

She added, “Tell me why I got an anonymous email two weeks ago and it was like ‘Do you have any food allergies?’” She found it strange but responded that she’s allergic to nuts, especially pecan and walnut.

Abigail, the woman who was gifted the pecan pie, went on to ask whether her secret Santa was trying to kill her with this pie.

The internet community was quick to rally around the woman, with many urging her to take the matter to her company's Human Resources department.

Advice poured in, suggesting she forward the email to HR and keep a copy for her records, allowing for a proper investigation into whether this was a cruel prank or a grave misunderstanding. They said, “Let the HR investigate the IP address but definitely keep a copy for your records so you can investigate outside of the company.”

One commenter offered a glimmer of hope, proposing that perhaps the email about allergies wasn't from the gift-giver but from a concerned colleague who failed to relay the critical information in time. Could this have been a case of miscommunication rather than malevolence?
