Walks with my dog and playing with my cat. No matter how bad a day I may have had, they both bring me so much joy that just melts away any anger, frustration, anxiety, despair, disappointment, etc. I may have faced that day.
That’s beautiful! Pets really have a magical way of turning a tough day around. It’s so wonderful how they bring such peace and joy.

I enjoy getting ready for the Spring with plants for inside and out. Last year I was able to feed some monarch caterpillars. I will be bringing in more milkweed for that. And I have 2 dogs that love to play fetch.

That sounds wonderful, @lavender3! What kinds of plants do you usually bring in for the season? We'd love to see them! I hope you could send us some photos. 😊 And have you seen the caterpillars transform to butterflies? Also, I bet your dogs love all the extra outdoor time!Tell us more about them!

I always like to have Rex Begonia. Love the red on leaves! I have a few plants my Mom gave me many years ago....Canna lilies, Mother of thousands, and a Wysteria tree that I split into 2 trees. The dogs have started digging n the yard. We sometimes have mole crickets and voles. I have a lab and a staffordshire, both rescues. They keep me company. Will be experimenting with a toad house soon. Last week I found one that looks like it froze on our sago palm. We had some cold nights here in Fla! The caterpillars were gone one day so they went to find a place to hang while becoming butterflies. Was glad to feed the cats tho.

That sounds like such a beautiful mix of plants, and how special that some came from your mom! I love flowers, but I don’t know much about their names, so it’s a little hard to picture them—I wish I could see them! Plus a toad house sounds like such a cool idea! Stay warm down there in Florida, and keep us posted on all your garden adventures! We have a Garderner's Corner (click on this link!) where you can share your stories, photos, or tips.

Your rescues must keep things lively, even if they’re a little too enthusiastic about yard work! If you like, you can share photos and more stories about them in our Photography forum!
