General Discussion Thread 04.17.2025

Welcome to another glorious Thursday, GrayViners! I (Ally) hope the day brings a smile to your face and a warmth to your heart. Today is going to be a slow day for me, but I’m looking forward to trying out a new dinner recipe tonight! Speaking of food, I’ve been thinking: If you could dine with any famous person, dead or alive, who would it be and why? Share your thoughts in the comments! For me, I’d love to go grab a bite with Steve Irwin. I love animals, and I’d love to learn more about them from him. 💜

Or, if you have something else you'd like to share—whether it’s a cool fact you just learned, a funny story, or something that’s been bothering you—feel free to comment them down, too! This General Discussion Thread is created just for you, so feel free to engage with your fellow members!

Now, what's on YOUR mind today?

lt would have to be John Wayne. l fell in love with his movies when l was in my teens. He was a great actor and gave a lot of himself to others. Visiting soldiers, helping people out when they needed it and many other things. His legacy lives on through the Lung Cancer research trying to help others who have gotten it

Steve McQueen loved his movies and was a good actor. He and Kathyrn Hepburn made awesome movies together. Loved The African Queen

I would love to once again, have the opportunity of dining with Jeff Chandler. Had dinner with him on a train in 1956. His table had the only space for my mom and I and he invited us to sit with him. He was a most gracious host, great conversationalist and as he rose to leave, kissed my hand. I remember telling my mother I would never wash that hand ever again!

It probably sounds cliché but because I would have some specific questions for him and because I am a believer, I would have to go with Jesus Christ.

I would love to have dinner with Morgan Freeman. I find him very fascinating and interesting. He has a very soothing voice and can tell some extremely great stories.

Thomas Jefferson, and Leonardo Da Vinci. They were great thinkers, inventors and creators. It would be wonderful to listen to them discuss ideas and creativity. Ask them to compare their thinking and creative methods and processes.

Abraham Lincoln. I think he must have been an interesting person aside from being a great President and humanitarian.

I would like to dine with Broc Purdy - Quarterback for the 49ers and/or Travis Kelce - plays for the Chiefs.

Easy answer for me. I chose to share a meal with Jesus. I would loved to be with Him and the 12 disciples in the Upper Room
