General Discussion Thread 04.27.2025

Hey GrayViners!

Alright, let’s get a little reflective today.

What’s a life lesson you’ve picked up along the way that made things just a little easier, a little better—or at least gave you a good story to tell? Maybe it’s something practical, like “always check your tire pressure", or something deeper, like “you can’t pour from an empty cup”.

I’ll go first: Mine is you don’t have to answer the phone just because it’s ringing. Took me way too long to learn that one—and let me tell you, it’s been peaceful ever since.

Now it’s your turn—what do you wish more people knew? Drop your wisdom below!

Cheers!
Blue 💙

Be kind. Be generous. Respect others, all others, especially those who respect you. Don’t gossip. Tell the truth and live your truth. Don’t stay silent when you see something do something. Be patient. I'm sure I have forgotten something. Pray.

My advice is never hesitate to give a stranger a compliment, you will brighten their day. You never know what people are going through.

Take time and enjoy each season of life. Enjoy your kids and trust your intuition. If it feels wrong trust that.

This is a beautiful and powerful reminder—thank you so much for sharing @Hello Kitty ! Setting boundaries can be one of the most transformative (and sometimes challenging) things we do for our well-being. Have you found that setting boundaries has changed any relationships in your life—for better or for worse? Or was there a moment that helped you realize how important it is to protect your peace of mind? We’d love to hear the story behind this wisdom if you’re open to sharing!

Thank you for sharing this @doroth1020 —it’s such a helpful perspective! Letting go of the need to make others think or feel the way we do can really lighten the emotional load. That phrase “It’s THEM” says so much in just two words! I was curious about the “5 4 3 2 1” part—does that come from the book, or is it a technique you use to shift your mindset in the moment? I’d love to hear more about how this approach has helped you in real life.
