General Discussion Thread 05.13.2025

Yes, it's Ally, back again to bring you another Tuesday morning edition of The GrayVine! I don’t know about you, but Tuesdays always feel like a balancing act. The chaos of Monday is behind us (barely), but the rhythm of the week hasn’t quite settled in. It's days like these that I crave a comforting meal. So, let me ask you this: What’s your ultimate comfort food? (Personally, I’m partial to anything involving melted cheese and carbs.) 💜

Or, if you have something else you'd like to share—whether it’s a cool fact you just learned, a funny story, or something that’s been bothering you—feel free to comment them down, too! This General Discussion Thread is created just for you, so feel free to engage with your fellow members!

Now, what's on YOUR mind today?

A well done baked Mac & Cheese! Love the browned crispy edges!
Or a bowl of Angel Hair Pasta with spaghetti sauce with cheese sprinkled on top.
Or something my mom made, beef lamb and pork cubes called City Chicken. Roll all pieces of meat in seasoned flour. Put pieces on a skewer and fry. Delicious!

Baked mac & cheese. I am diabetic so it is really bad for me but, once in a while I indulge. I have to plan my day to incorporate my Mac & cheese. It must be baked also, not frozen or boxed.

Tomato soup and grilled cheese is my go to food anytime!
That’s a classic combo for a reason! There’s something so soothing about dunking a perfectly grilled cheese into a warm bowl of tomato soup. 😋 Thanks so much for sharing your go-to comfort food @Pattycake — do you make your own soup or go for the canned version?

Liver and Onions with crackling gravy and butter milk biscuits. Pecan Pie or Coconut Creme Pie
Wow — now that’s a comforting feast @Arkie98 ! Liver and onions with crackling gravy sounds like a proper old-school favorite, and those buttermilk biscuits must be the perfect match. 😍 And finishing off with pecan or coconut creme pie? You’ve really nailed the sweet side too! Thanks so much for sharing — do you make it all from scratch?

A bowl of rice with natto and a cup of miso soup.
That’s such a wholesome and nourishing choice — simple, satisfying, and full of flavor! Natto isn’t for everyone, but those who love it really love it. 😊 Thanks so much for sharing your comfort food @Grayling55 — do you enjoy it often, or is it something you treat yourself to when you need a pick-me-up?

French onion Mac & cheese with some added Trader Joe's Unexpected Cheddar cheese!!! Carbs always make me smile!!😊
Now that sounds like next-level comfort food! French onion mac & cheese with a cheesy twist? Yes please! 😍 And we totally agree — carbs have a magical way of making everything better. Thanks so much for sharing your delicious go-to @queenager25 — do you make it often or save it for special treat days?
