Jessica didn’t come home one night. The next morning, she told her partner, Alex, that she had stayed over at a friend’s place. Suspicious, Alex called Jessica’s ten closest friends—none of them had seen her, and not one knew anything about a sleepover.
The following week, Alex didn’t come home one night. The next day, he told Jessica he had crashed at a buddy’s house. Jessica called Alex’s ten best friends. Eight said, “Yep, he was with us,” and two claimed, “He’s still sleeping on my couch.”
