Any tips for a beginner?

I have always been fascinated by ornamental plants, but I just can’t keep them alive! Every time I try, they wilt within a week. I have settled for painting flowers and going to exhibits, as taking care of real plants hasn’t worked out for me. Do you have any beginner gardening tips? I would love it if you could give me any advice!

@ghandi44 I looked it up and was a bit surprised! I often see that plant a lot and didn't know it's also called a mother in law's plant. Thank you for the tip! Hoping it'll be a success this time!

As a "green" beginning gardener, my elderly best friend neighbor told me the #1 rule "Do not overwater" ..They will survive better with dry feet than rotted feet..That's what she said. And she believed in watering with spring water...never chlorinated water..also used Peter's plant food every other watering reduced by 1/4 it's strength ( don't want to burn them up)..Plus if needed don't be afraid to repot or split plants if too crowded. Good luck on your Gardening Journey..trial and error..start with known hardy plants 🪴

I almost had a successful one but it wilted after I repotted! I worry that I have really warm hands for plants. But thank you for the tips! I'll do some more research!
