Brain Freeze!

We've all had a brain freeze before. But did you know that the medical term for these ice cream-induced headaches is sphenopalatine ganglioneuralgia? This is caused by the sphenopalatine ganglion nerves; a group of nerves located behind the nose which also causes headache pain. They’re designed to be highly sensitive to pain, presumably to protect the brain.
