Espresso… With a Side of Secrecy
It looks like a regular Starbucks. But nothing is quite what it seems.
Tucked inside the CIA’s headquarters in Langley, Virginia, is a Starbucks unlike any other. The drinks are familiar, but the rules are anything but.
At this café, baristas don’t write names on cups. Ever.
Why? Because most customers are undercover agents. Using a real name, even for a latte, could compromise security. No punch cards. No personalized greetings. And the staff go through more background checks than most airline pilots.
Employees call it “Stealthy Starbucks.” Its register doesn’t track your usual order. And if you're a regular, no one says so out loud.
It’s caffeine, classified.
