Wow, some great movie recommendations here! I also loved A Man called Otto. I haven't seen The Glen Miller Story, but I will have to give it a watch. I have so many favorite movies I don't even know where to begin!

I couldn't agree more @GrandpaGrumpy ! What is a great movie you have watched recently? I am after some recommendations if you have any

I'm guessing that they have some sort of sailing theme Thursday or Friday.
Mutlny on the Bounty ,
Captain's Courageous,
Old man and the sea .
I always loved the ability to sit down and watch some of these.
Captain's Courageous is one that I could watch all the time.

Just take a pic.

Thank you so much for the recommendation @GrandpaGrumpy! I might start with Captain's Courageous if that's one you can watch all the time!

Next weekend there's Casablanca, Mister Roberts, Around the world in 80 days and True Grit.
Not sure if you're movie preferences.
Casablanca is a true classic.
Mister Roberts is one that I can remember as a kid.
Around the world in 80 days always entertains me with the camieos, as does Its a Mad, Mad World. If you ever see it come up, definitely a fun movie.
True Grit is a John Wayne classic.

Thank you so much @GrandpaGrumpy you really know your stuff! Would you consider yourself a movie buff? Or is it more than you have just watched a lot of movies?

I've been retired for nearly 25 years now.
Stayed home with my girls. Later on I keep a niece and a nephew. Recently I kept my oldest granddaughter most days.
Being able to enjoy a bit of TV to myself kept me sane. We never had the disposable income to actually go out to a movie, so I had to make the best of it.

The wife and I enjoy the Hallmark Mystery Channel. I really appreciate having TCM on our channel lineup. They do offer some of the best movies that older folks can enjoy.

Wow @GrandpaGrumpy that is incredible. It sounds like you have had a lot of time home with children -- they are lucky to have you! Especially with the expense of childcare nowadays!

I couldn't agree more. A good movie or book are a great escape for me too and it is what keeps me sane. So I really appreciate your recommendations! The Hallmark Mystery Channel is one of my favorites too. :)
