From 1264 to 1827, every single person who earned a Master of Arts degree from Oxford had to swear an oath promising they would never forgive a guy named Henry Symeonis.

Sounds intense, right? But here’s the kicker: By 1608, no one had any clue who Henry Symeonis even was or what he did to deserve such a grudge. Talk about holding a centuries-long mystery grudge!
