Hello Grayviners,

I hope your weekend was filled with good company, quiet moments, and perhaps one small indulgence that brought you unexpected joy. You know the kind—something you didn’t plan to buy, but now find surprisingly useful or endearing.

To start the week with a bit of reflection and fun, here’s a question for everyone: What’s a discontinued product you wish would return? It could be a favorite snack from childhood, a piece of technology that worked just right, a well-made household item, or anything else you still think about from time to time. What made it special—and why do you miss it?

And as always, if nothing comes to mind, feel free to share any thoughts, updates, or small joys from your week. Whether it’s a recent accomplishment, a good book, or just something that made you smile, this is your space to connect with your fellow GrayViners.

Wishing you all a thoughtful and positive start to the week. Looking forward to reading your stories.

With love,
Sophia 💓

The blue jeans I loved from K-Mart. They always felt like an old friend, and they fit in all the sizes I wore at some time or other.

I don’t remember the name of this candy I loved in the 50’s and 60’s. It was sold at a candy shop called Faroh’s in the burb of Middleberg in Cleveland Ohio. It was football shaped lemon hard candy with a center of ascorbic acid. It made it a pleasant burst of tartness that was just right. Not like the super sour of Sour Patch Kids. Those tweak my jaws a wee bit too much. I wish they would bring back my favorite lemon candy! 🍋

Buitoni Instant Pizza, I loved it as a kid and so did my oldest son. Just pop it in the toaster and mmmmm goodness.

Warner bra - they used to have a bra that felt good, no underwire digging into you and fit right. Now they do not have it anymore and trying to find the perfect one has been endless.

Thank you so much for sharing @Foxygwen ! There's something really special about a pair of jeans that feel like an old friend – always reliable and comfortable no matter what. K-Mart definitely got it right with those! Let’s hope one day they bring them back for all of us who still miss them. 💙

Hydrox Cookies...
Better than Oreos
Thanks for sharing @susanguffy ! Hydrox cookies truly have a dedicated fan base, and it's great to hear your preference for them over Oreos. Interestingly, Hydrox made a comeback in 2015 when Leaf Brands reintroduced them, aiming to recapture the original flavor that many loved. You can find Hydrox cookies available for purchase online through several retailers:
  • Amazon: Hydrox Cookies, Master Pack of 6 (13 oz each)
  • Walmart: Leaf Brands Original Hydrox Cookies, 8.6 Ounce Master Case, 6-pack
These options should help you satisfy that nostalgic craving. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for sharing that vivid and delicious memory @Gayle B. ! 🍋 That football-shaped lemon candy with the ascorbic acid center sounds like such a perfectly balanced treat – tart, but not too intense. I checked online to see if I could find that exact candy from Faroh’s, but sadly, I couldn’t track it down. It sounds like a real gem from a bygone era! Here’s hoping someone brings back that classic lemon delight just the way you remember it. 😋

Captain's Steak Joint and their sausage gravy fondue.
Thanks so much for sharing @kdartpro2025 ! Captain’s Steak Joint sounds like the kind of place that left a lasting impression – and sausage gravy fondue? Now that sounds like comfort food at its finest! 😍 I had a look online and while I couldn’t find the exact sausage gravy version, I did come across a cheese fondue recipe from Captain’s that might bring back some of those delicious memories. It’s always those unique, hearty dishes that stick with us. Here’s hoping someone brings back a version of that fondue someday!

Thank you so much for sharing that delightful memory @metfan117 ! Buitoni Instant Pizza was indeed a cherished treat for many, offering the convenience of a toaster-prepared snack that both kids and adults adored. It's heartwarming to hear that it was a favorite for both you and your oldest son. I looked into its current availability, and unfortunately, Buitoni Instant Pizza has been discontinued. While Buitoni continues to offer a range of pasta products, their Instant Pizza is no longer in production.

Root Beer Popsickles. Can find the Banana ones
Thanks so much for sharing that sweet memory @Arkie98 ! 🍭 Root beer popsicles definitely have that classic, nostalgic charm. It's funny how banana ones are still easy to find, but root beer seems to have quietly disappeared from the shelves. I had a look around and while they’re not easy to buy ready-made these days, you can recreate that flavor at home! There's a simple recipe on Allrecipes that might be just the thing to bring back those refreshing childhood vibes. Here's hoping they make a comeback one day — but until then, DIY might be the next best thing!

Thank you so much for sharing @Hazeleyes ! Finding a bra that actually feels good is no small feat – and when you finally do, it’s so disappointing when it gets discontinued. That Warner’s style sounds like it was the perfect mix of comfort and support without the dreaded underwire digging in. Warner’s does still offer a few wireless styles, like “Easy Does It” and “Cloud 9,” that people seem to love, so they might be worth a look. Fingers crossed you find your perfect match again soon – you deserve to feel comfy and confident every day! 💕
