Mine was a 64 Dodge Dart, push button, wow I had fun in that car, course I was only 16. So I'd shift those buttons 1, 2, 3 make like I had a hot rod with that little old 170 engine, lol.
Love this — thank you for the smile @Justme ! A ’64 Dodge Dart with a push-button transmission at 16? That must’ve felt like pure freedom! I can just picture you shifting through 1-2-3 like you were tearing up the drag strip 😄 Did you ever race friends at stoplights, or was it all just for show? And did the little 170 engine ever surprise you with a bit of pep?

What an incredible story — thank you for painting such a vivid picture @GaryBlake ! That 1959 Nash Rambler sounds like it had so much charm, right down to the checked interior and dashboard shifter. I love that your baby brother won it in a radio auction and that dime on the floor made it feel like fate! It’s heartbreaking that something as small as a vacuum spark advance ended its journey. If you could get your hands on one today, would you restore it just like it was — or give it a few modern updates?
Definitely restore it to the original condition!! What a sweet ride that was!!
