General Discussion Thread 04.24.2025

Rise and shine, GrayViners! I (Ally) hope today finds you with a smile that rivals the sunrise. I, for one, had a weird start to my day. Last night, I had a dream where I was riding a bike in my neigborhood. Then, I lost control and crashed into the pavement. The force woke me up, and I found myself… inside another dream! This time, I was in the jungle feeding a jaguar before actually waking up in my bed. Who knew you could have a dream within a dream? This got me thinking: What's the most bizarre dream you've ever had? Let’s swap stories here. 💜

Or, if you have something else you'd like to share—whether it’s a cool fact you just learned, a funny story, or something that’s been bothering you—feel free to comment them down, too! This General Discussion Thread is created just for you, so feel free to engage with your fellow members!

Now, what's on YOUR mind today?

Years ago I, to, had a dream that I was ridiing my bike. It was an empty lot where they hadn't started building houses yet. I rode my bike very fast towards a curb, jumped the curb and ended up going through some brush and right when I was going to ride off a gully, I woke up. What's weird is that I had the very same dream for several nights.

When my husband passed away in 2016 I dreamed that the devil was throwing live babies into a huge fire. I dreamt I woke up but it was still happening. I dreamt 7 tines that I woke up, but I knew I hadn't. Finally I woke up for real and found myself in my bed in my apartment. In the dream I could feel the heat and smell the odors of death. To this day I can fully remember everything about that dream while I can not remember my other dreams. As far as dreams within dreams it commonly happens.

There was a time my son and I were estranged and I had this dream.
I was searching for my son, there was this stairway like a peramid and I ran up the stairs. Nothing there,so back down, many doors and opening them. No one there. Then running and searching. Could not find him. Then a phone on a table. Then I woke up. A few days later he called out of the blue

I was dreaming my home was being invaded. Was fighting and screaming for all i was worth, my Aunt came running in as i scared her. She thought some one had actually broke in. Had a time getting me awake and to stop my fighting, after wards felt totally foolish.

That’s such a vivid dream — thank you for sharing it with us @NIBOR0 ! 💜 There’s something so intriguing about recurring dreams, especially ones that stop just before something dramatic happens like riding off a gully! Did it ever feel different on any of the nights you dreamt it — like the speed, the setting, or your emotions during the ride? I wonder if your mind was trying to work something out or send you a message. Have you ever had another recurring dream since then?

Thank you so much for sharing such a powerful and haunting dream with us @clc22 . 💜 It must have been incredibly intense to experience — especially during such a painful time in your life. The way you describe the vividness, the heat, the smells, and the sensation of waking up multiple times… it really leaves an impression. It’s so interesting that you still remember it so clearly, while other dreams have faded. Do you think that dream was your mind trying to process the grief, or something more symbolic? And you mentioned that dreams within dreams happen to you often — has that been the case throughout your life, or mostly since that time?

Thank you for sharing @Wiseoldone — what a moving and symbolic dream. 💜 The imagery of running, climbing, opening doors, and searching feels so powerful, especially given what was happening between you and your son at the time. And then for him to call just days later — that must’ve felt almost surreal. Do you think the dream helped you feel closer to him somehow, or gave you a sense that something was about to shift? Have you had other dreams that seemed to reflect real-life changes like that?

Wow, thank you for sharing @Arkie98 — what an intense experience! 💜 It must have felt so real in the moment, especially if your aunt thought someone had actually broken in. Dreams like that can really blur the line between sleep and reality. It’s totally understandable to feel shaken (or even a bit embarrassed) afterward — but it also shows how powerfully our minds can react during sleep. Have you ever had other dreams that felt just as real? Or was this a one-off moment of full-on dream action?

Before I started having the dream, a bunch of girls surrounded me in that same culdesac. They were all sitting on their bikes and one of them came up and started a fight with me. I refused to hit her but she beat me up. I rode home and my Mom was furious. She and I drove down to the culdesac and the girls on their bikes cussed her out a good one. Boy was my Mom pissed. That's what happened before the dream. I don't know what it means but that is what happened.

Wow, what a powerful memory — and thank you so much for sharing both the dream and the real-life moment that happened beforehand @NIBOR0 . It’s amazing how experiences like that can find their way into our dreams, especially when they’re emotionally charged. That must’ve been such a tough situation to go through as a kid — standing your ground, getting hurt, and then watching your mom stand up for you too. No wonder it stuck with you. Dreams can be mysterious, can’t they? Sometimes they’re like echoes of things we haven’t quite finished processing. I'm really glad you felt comfortable sharing that here 💛
