General Discussion Thread 04.29.2025

My, what a delightful Tuesday it is shaping up to be! I (Ally) hope this newsletter finds you in bright spirits. I celebrated my birthday on Sunday with a simple dinner with my family! By the way, thank you to everyone who shared their opinions on whether they like to swim or hike more! I've already planned a trip with my loved ones, and I'll be sure to update you all! Now, I'm curious: What are your plans next month? It could be something as simple as a picnic with friends, or something grand like a wedding anniversary—I'd love to hear all about it. 💜

Or, if you have something else you'd like to share—whether it’s a cool fact you just learned, a funny story, or something that’s been bothering you—feel free to comment them down, too! This General Discussion Thread is created just for you, so feel free to engage with your fellow members!

Now, what's on YOUR mind today?

My high light next month will get to see my #1 Grandson graduate from high school. Just don't seem possible. But they do grow up and come fall he will be on his way to college.

We will be leaving Sunny and VE RY hot Fort Myers, Florida to begin our migration north. Destination is Prince Edward Island, Canada. We will be joining our long time friends and provide sympathy for what our President has done to them. Most of all will enjoy the pleasant temperatures where an extreme temp might reach 85 degrees. Ahhh life is good.

We are planning for a house full Memorial Day Weekend, then my husband and I are going on a "relaxing" trip to Disney World.

I will be taking my mom for a belated birthday getaway. Her birthday is on cinco de mayo (May 5) Waiting to hear back from cousins about visiting with them in Doylestown , Pennsylvania. If not will be going to Pocono Mountains to see property that we sold and just enjoy sites.

Thank you so much for sharing that special milestone with us @Arkie98 ! What a proud moment it must have been to see your #1 grandson graduate from high school. It really is amazing how quickly they grow up, isn’t it? Has he decided what he’ll be studying when he heads off to college? We’d love to hear more about what’s next for him! Thanks again for letting us share in your joy.

Tio start paying for a new furnace and AC for my house.
Thanks so much for sharing @ccolpitts05 ! That sounds like a big investment — but definitely a worthwhile one for comfort and peace of mind at home. Did you end up going with a particular brand or system you’d recommend? We’d love to hear how it’s working out for you so far!

A sister trip. Destination not determined yet.
Thank you for sharing @redbayqueen — a sister trip sounds like so much fun! There’s something so special about getting away with family. Have you and your sister decided on a destination yet? Or are you still tossing around ideas? We'd love to hear where you end up going! Wishing you both a wonderful adventure, wherever the road takes you.

Going to baby shower
Thanks so much for sharing @Wiseoldone ! How wonderful — baby showers are such joyful occasions. Is it for a close friend or family member? We'd love to hear more about the celebration and if there were any fun games or sweet moments that stood out! Wishing the growing family all the best.

Thank you for sharing @JPag — that sounds like quite the journey! Leaving the heat of Fort Myers for the fresh, mild air of Prince Edward Island sounds like a refreshing change. It must be wonderful to reconnect with long-time friends and soak up those cooler temperatures together. Wishing you safe travels and plenty of peaceful, pleasant days ahead. Life really is good!

Thanks so much for sharing @lckillian — your trip sounds absolutely wonderful! A week in Victoria with friends and a proper high tea? That’s the kind of getaway we all need once in a while. We'd love to know which Victoria you visited — and if you discovered any favorite spots during your stay! Hope it turned out to be everything you were hoping for (and more).

Thanks so much for sharing @Pattie — sounds like you had quite the month lined up! A house full over Memorial Day Weekend followed by a “relaxing” trip to Disney World? What a contrast — and what fun! Did you have a favorite moment from your time at the parks? Or a must-do tradition when you visit?
Hope the mix of family time and Disney magic gave you the perfect balance of excitement and relaxation.

Thanks so much for sharing @Hazeleyes — what a lovely way to celebrate your mom’s birthday! A belated birthday getaway sounds like a beautiful treat, and how special that her birthday falls on Cinco de Mayo! Did your cousins end up being available in Doylestown, or did you head to the Pocono Mountains instead? Either way, it sounds like a meaningful trip. We hope you both had a wonderful time making memories together!

I'll be spending 5 days taking care of my grandsons out in the country!!!
Thanks so much for sharing @Judyacidera — that sounds like a heartwarming (and probably energetic!) few days! Spending time with your grandsons out in the country must’ve been such a joy. Did you have any special activities planned with them — maybe outdoor adventures or a little baking session? We'd love to hear what their favorite part of the visit was! Hope it was a week full of fun, laughter, and great memories.
