Happy Tuesday, GrayViners! I (Ally) hope this newsletter finds you happy this morning. Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and I wanted to ask: What’s one piece of advice your mom (or mother figure!) gave you that you still carry to this day? I'd love to hear all about it. When I was a kid, I got into a lot of fights (I know, I was a very troublesome child), and one day my mom had one too many visits to the principal’s office so she sat me down and told me: “There’s nothing wrong with fighting for yourself, but there are many different ways to go about it.” I remember these words every day, and live a very peaceful life because of it!

My mother told me when I was a teenager that if you hang with trash you will become known as trash too. My daughter used that on her son only nicer.

My mom always said to be mindful of your surroundings. This is good advice as people now a day are always texting or talking on phone while walking. This is how people are getting hit by cars and getting phones stolen from them as they have no clue what is going on around them.
