I trust you all had a weekend full of relaxation, tasty treats, and maybe even a little adventure (or at least a well-deserved nap!). As we dive into a new week, here’s a little nudge to make today a day where you do something that brings you joy—no matter how small!

Let’s kick things off with a fun question to get the conversation rolling: What’s the longest you’ve ever stood in line for something? Was it for a concert that you simply couldn’t miss, that latest gadget you just had to get your hands on, or perhaps a cup of coffee that was well worth the wait? Just last Monday at Subway, it was way too long. I was going to leave when I first got in the long line, but I didn't. The sandwich wasn't that great.

June 1975 stood 2 hours in line to see 'JAWS' It did not disappoint!

The line in Fort Wayne that snaked up and down a huge field to see the Freedom Train that traveled the country in celebration of the Nation’s 200th birthday in 1976. We were in line over 2 1/2 hours.

Years ago, when I first moved to Los Angeles, I wanted to see the Johnny Carson show taped. We got to the ticket office at 4:00 in the morning with pillows and blankets to sleep. We were the 4th in line . The ticket office opened at 9:00. We were allowed 2 tickets each but we only wanted one ticket each. After that, we went home, changed and ate something and went and stood in line by the studio because the tickets did not guarantee you got into the taping. We got there about 11:00 and were about 20th in line. The doors opened at 4:00 if I remember correctly. You still were not guaranteed a seat because the audience could get filled with family and friends of the guests, band, and crew. We were lucky. We got in. Johnny Carson was there, Doc Severinsen was there, and Ed McMann. The guests were Brooke Shiekds and Kareem Abul - Jabbar. A day to remember.

Back in the day, way back in the day, when the Lottery was born, I stood in line for my first lottery ticket. Not really sure how long, but the line wound around every aisle in the grocery store and I stood in front of the cooler aisle for what seemed like an eternity. I ended up getting a pair of socks that were displayed just beyond the coolers and putting them on because my feet were so cold. Yes, I paid for them when I got my ticket and I was not the only one doing that. I never stood in line again for a lottery ticket. No I didnt win anything. Boo Hoo.

Oil Embargo in 1973. Waiting on line to get gas (36 cents per gallon) for hours! Gas was rationed in California- drivers with odd-numbered license plates could only purchase gas on odd-numbered calendar days, and those with even-numbered plates could only purchase on even-numbered days.

Was in Branson Mo, saw Box Car Willie and waited 3 hours in line to get an autographed Bandana Hanky he always had in his pocket. Was for my Mom. Was worth it
