At age 60 learned to live and be by myself and take public transportation. Had to learn this after my husband of 41 1/2 years suddenly passed away.

That takes incredible strength — learning to navigate life on your own after such a deep loss is no small thing. Thank you for sharing something so personal @clc22 . It’s a powerful reminder of how resilient we can be, even in the face of heartbreak.

Doing home improvement work. I am good at painting. Still learning the fine arts of spackling. I try to tackle things that need to be fixed and if I cannot do it I hire someone to do the work.

I was never crafty growing up. My mom and sisters were, but I never felt that creative. BUT then I discovered card making after age 40. I love stamping, die cutting, stenciling, and more on cards to give to others. Our church has a card ministry for people in our church who are in the hospital, have lost loved ones, or are in senior living facilities or shut in at home. I have a purpose now to my card making in supporting this ministry and it helps me give my talent for Jesus. I also make cards for my family for birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays. The bonus is that it makes me use my mind and keeps me from becoming obsolete.
