I miss being younger when I stayed at my godparents house for the whole summer. They had a built in pool. My godfather worked for Schaefer Brewery In Brooklyn and every summer my godparents had a pool party for the workers.

I miss the sound of a wooden screen door, especially in the summer

Thank you for that lovely memory @Gibb —there’s something so specific and nostalgic about the creak and slam of a wooden screen door in summer. It just brings back the feeling of warm evenings and simpler times. Was it at a family home or maybe a holiday spot where you remember that sound most clearly?

I miss getting a phone call from my kids asking me how I am. Or to just talk. The darn thing is I don't even get a text from my grown kids. What has this world come to?

Yes what's the world come to? They should call you and text.when your parents are gone is when regret will set in.i sure miss my mom n dad. I was my mom's care giver. She passed away a yr ago. She lived to 100! I was Blessed!

There was a tragic episode one year at the pool party. One man (Walter) always played a game with us. He would swim to the deep end of the pool and just stay at the bottom. We would all than dive in to tag him (all (7 of us children) at one time and he would have to catch one of us. Walter ended up drowning as we did not notice when he went in. (It was Alway sometime after we ate. He died a week later from internal drowning.
There were a lot of good and fun times. One thing that always made me smile was playing Croquet. My godfather used to say that I will knock your ball to the other side of town.
