I had three favorite subjects:
American History
English Literature
Greek Mythology
My least favorite subjects:
PE
Biology
So many rich subjects, @BarbF! Greek Mythology, especially, we don’t hear that one too often. PE and Bio definitely weren’t everyone’s cup of tea 😄

My favorite was math, algebra I had high nineties in them. Had 80’s with geometry and trigonometry.

I hated history- could not remember all those dates and facts.
Impressive math scores! You clearly had a knack. And history with all those dates... totally get that.

The library during recess, that’s such a beautiful image! And “letters with numbers” still trips people up decades later!
I loved English. I tried to find a way to always go to the library during recess. Books were my thing. However, once they put letters with numbers, I was lost.

Wow, what stories! English, bookkeeping, and forensic science, so diverse. And those PE and speech class memories... whew. You’ve lived through some real schoolyard drama!
1. Loved English, but one particular teacher I would have liked to have been able to take out back of the barn and come back alone.
2. Loved bookkeeping because I taught it since the assigned teacher knew nothing about it even though he was the business teacher. (My mother was a bookkeeper.)
3. liked Forensic science: almost got arrested when I brought in some oregano made in Mexico. Guess the rest.

1. Hated PE, except for one specific class when I embarrassed all the football team members that were present. They thought mooning the females was a smart thing to do. My reaction...
2. Disliked recess. spent most of that time in the nurse's office.
3. Disliked Communication/Speech class. Teacher was a bully. Gave an informative speech on Sign Language demonstrating the language as I talked. The teacher yelled at me to stop moving my hands and tried to give me an F! All my speeches were treated in similar ways. My descriptive speech was too specific; my persuasive speech on the wildlife I grew up around had the class wanting to see pictures. Teacher told me I was lying!

I loved typing and shorthand, also English. I became an Executive Secretary until I retired. I owe it to my high school courses, especially typing and shorthand. After graduating, I decided I wanted to be a secretary.
Typing and shorthand, such practical, empowering skills. You clearly put them to great use. And don’t worry, math seems to be everyone’s classroom villain!

English and music sound like highlights with the heart. And that geometry teacher story? Yikes. So glad you got out early and on your own terms!
My favorite was English. I had the same teacher in 10-12th. I did well! All of my music classes were great!
My least favorite was Geometry. I could never prove that congruent angles were congruent! Argh! Another reason I didn’t like Geometry was because the teacher was a pervert who sat the prettiest girls in the shortest skits across the front rows. He did that with all of his classes. Let’s just say that I was nearer the back of the classroom! Lol
I hated school. I graduated in January, a half year early with more than enough credits. I needed to get the heck out of Dodge!

I also loved English, and have been an avid reader all my life.
