My father gave me the love of Christmas when l was little. We may not have much but he was like a little kid. l started a tradition of buying a yearly ornament each year. Especially after my daughter was born. Then l got remarried and that is when it really got bad. Every year an ornament was bought for each kid(he had 2) and our couple ornaments. Vacations souveniers were ornaments and Colts ornaments. We had to add trees for them. Plus Angels for me and Eagles and Marilyn for him. We have a family tree that has around 200+ ornaments A vacay/sports tree that has over 100 and the Angel/Eagle/Marilyn with around 60. We add around 10 each year. lt has become an obsession with me.
A family tree with so much history? That's incredibly wonderful, @angib55! And what a beautiful tradition! Can we see some photos?

I also collect cups! That's always my favorite thing to get when traveling. I collected horse plates in the 80s - 90s. I have three full sets. I will never give them up.
What's your favorite cup, @senior71? and how many do you have in your collection? They're a pain to pack but I love getting them haha

Way too many things. started years ago with business cards (usually free) and have way too many. also my record collection and pictorial postmarks just to name a few
Do you still have them? Where did you keep your business card collection? And what's your favorite record? Would love to hear more from you, @irishstorm!

I collected souvenir spoons from states that I have been in and countries if I can find any. Members of my family got me spoons from places they have been as well so I have 2 separate spoon display cases.
Aww, that’s thoughtful! I’ve also received a couple of dreamcatchers as gifts from friends who know I collect them. One thing I wish I’d done, though, is label where they came from—now I can’t remember which one came from where!

Music boxes from wherever my husband went. I also collect snow globes. My favorite music box was bought in the San Francisco Music Box Company. My husband was on temporary duty assignment (TDY) there in the 70’s had a hard time NOT telling me what he had gotten before getting home! Such a sweetheart! 🥰😲 🫡🇺🇸
Oh my 1st music box was from my parents. It was a wedding gift from my dad to my mom. She gave it to me after they had a huge argument. It plays 3 songs to this day! That was 62 years ago! 🎶🫶🏼
What a treasure trove of memories, @Gayle B. ! That first music box is such a special keepsake—and it’s amazing that it’s still playing after 62 years. You’ve done such a beautiful job keeping it safe. And your husband? He really sets the bar high, doesn’t he?

I collect penguins, books, teapots, pink Depression glass (dogwood pattern), vintage cookware, Jim Shore angels, bookmarks, seashells and sea glass, Belleek porcelain, lead crystal, and salt-glazed stoneware.
That's quite a range! I'd really love to see even a glimpse of at least one, @donnarepsher. I hope you could share a photo with us!

Sure, can show my living room collection. Not the only one, that’s why I had to quit collecting! My favorite is moonstone and tourmaline. But love all the pink stones! Then there’s citrine. Guess I don’t have a favorite!😊
Thank you, @Capaten1! And now that you've mentioned it, yeah I love the pink stones, too!
