Happy Thursday, GrayViners! Well, would you look at that—it’s almost the weekend, and I (Ally) can't wait to do a little bit of cleaning around the house. I noticed that I had a lot of stuff that I don't use anymore, and some old clothes that don't really resonate with my current fashion style. I saw my old varsity jacket deep in the corners of my wardrobe, too, and I remembered how it seemed everyone in my class used to wear them! Now I'm curious: What was the “cool thing” everyone wanted when you were in school? I'm eager to know! 💜

If you have something else you'd like to share—whether it’s a cool fact you just learned, a funny story, or something that’s been bothering you—feel free to comment them down, too! This General Discussion Thread is created just for you, so feel free to engage with your fellow members!

Now, what's on YOUR mind today?

Class sweater with our name and graduation year on it. If you were a girl and wearing a Letterman's jacket you were "going steady" with that guy.

Dr Kildare shirts. Richard Chamberlain played him on TV. All the girls wanted a shirt like his . I had a white one. I loved that shirt

Saddle shoes
Thanks for sharing that @Marilyn ! Saddle shoes really had their moment—so classic and stylish. Did you wear them as part of a school uniform, or were they more of a fashion statement among your friends? Do you remember what colors were most popular back then?

Poodle skirts and crinoline s
Thanks for sharing! Poodle skirts and crinolines must’ve made for such a fun and vibrant school atmosphere—so full of flair! Did you ever have a favorite one, or maybe even make your own? What occasions did you usually wear them for—school dances, everyday wear, or something else?

Saddle shoes and bobby socks.
Thanks for sharing @sudy ! Saddle shoes and bobby socks—now that’s a timeless combo. Did you pair them with skirts or dresses, or was there a particular outfit that was the go-to look back then? And were there any popular brands or stores everyone loved to shop at for those items?

Fancy book binder and crayola crayons book of 100
Thanks for sharing that @rahodges ! A fancy book binder and a 100-pack of Crayola crayons definitely sound like the ultimate school flex! Did you use them mostly for school projects, or just for fun doodling and coloring? And do you remember if everyone traded or swapped colors with each other?
