Saddle shoes, bobby socks, poodle skirts and lots of heavy starched crinolins
Thanks for sharing that vivid picture @Arkie98 — it sounds like stepping straight into a scene from a retro dance hall! Did you and your friends coordinate outfits for special events or just wear them as everyday school fashion? And how long did it take to get those crinolines perfectly starched?

Bell bottoms
Thanks for sharing @Carol * ! Bell bottoms were such an iconic look—so much personality in just one pair of pants. Did you go for the super wide-leg style or something more subtle? And were there certain colors or fabrics that were especially trendy at your school?

Class sweater with our name and graduation year on it. If you were a girl and wearing a Letterman's jacket you were "going steady" with that guy.
Thanks for sharing @Betty T — what a sweet tradition! Those class sweaters sound like such a meaningful keepsake. Did everyone wear theirs proudly throughout the year? And I love the bit about the Letterman’s jacket—did you ever wear one, or know someone who did? Sounds like it was a big deal back then!

Exchanging class rings with your boyfriend
Thanks for sharing @Frosty Chocolate ! Exchanging class rings sounds like such a heartfelt gesture—like a rite of passage in young love. Did you ever exchange rings yourself, or know someone who wore theirs on a chain around their neck? Was it common for couples at your school to do that?

Saddle shoes with navy blue knee socks
Saddle shoes with navy blue knee socks—that’s such a crisp and classic combo! I bet it was a staple look at the time. Were those part of a uniform, or just the popular trend among your peers? Really enjoyed reading your memory—thanks for taking us back @Wheream1? !

Anything to do with the Beatles I was 14 in 1964 when they came to Ameria
What an unforgettable time to be a teenager—1964 and Beatlemania in full swing! I can only imagine the excitement. Did you have Beatles posters, lunchboxes, or maybe even try to copy their hairstyles? So glad you shared this @glojeans13 — it must’ve been such a fun era to grow up in!

Dr Kildare shirts. Richard Chamberlain played him on TV. All the girls wanted a shirt like his . I had a white one. I loved that shirt
That’s such a great memory @Gibb — thank you for painting such a clear picture! Dr. Kildare shirts must’ve been the look back then, especially with Richard Chamberlain making hearts flutter on TV. Do you remember where you got yours? And did you wear it just for school or save it for special outings?

Thanks for sharing @Hazeleyes ! Designer jeans were such a big deal—owning the right brand could really make you feel like you fit in. Do you remember which brands were the most sought-after at your school? And did you have a favorite pair that you wore until they nearly fell apart?
The ones everyone was getting were Jordache. My favorite back then was wrangler jeans. I was and still am more conservative and do not need the high end , overpriced things. I had two pairs of Jordache jeans. One pair I no sooner purchased I had to get the zipper fixed as my twin tried to wear them. As stated she was always larger than me.
