Phone and charger, chapstick, water bottle, lamp
Thank you for sharing @Wheream1? ! That’s such a well-rounded setup—you’ve got practicality and comfort all covered. Do you find you reach for the water bottle most during the night or first thing in the morning?

My phone no land line and a glass of water.
Thanks for sharing @Gibb ! A phone and water sound like must-haves. Since you don’t have a landline, do you keep your phone close mostly for emergencies, or more for everyday use?

Thank you for sharing that @Hazeleyes ! I don’t think I’ve heard of a tape measure on the bedside before—that’s unique! Have you found it comes in handy often, or is it just one of those things that’s nice to keep nearby?
Seems when I need it I could not find it. Last few years I need it for a lot of things I have been doing . Instead of running around trying to locate it or remember where I might have had it last I make sure to put it on the nightstand so I know where it is.

Thank you for joining the conversation @GaryBlake ! That’s a wonderful mix to keep by your bedside—practical with your glasses, and relaxing with books and magazines. Do you have a current favorite read you’d recommend?
Hello, TriciaR! Yes, I am reading a 10 book series by Matthew Rozell entitled, "What Our Fathers Saw." It consists of his and his History students interviews with World War II veterans and their first-hand experiences. It covers the European and Pacific theaters and the battles from the air, sea, and land, and includes heart rending accounts from POWs in both theaters as well. I am reading right now the book, "A Train Near Magdeburg." It tells of a tank company that liberated a train full of Jewish men, women, and children near the German city of Magdeburg. I must pause and take a deep breath to shake my head over man's treatment of a fellow man. Lest we forget. One daughter of a veteran is quoted throughout the series: "Dying for freedom isn't the worst that could happen. Being forgotten is."
