Lilacs are my favorite, and my mother's too. Such beautiful 🪻, dark and light and white growing with the sweet smell of Springs arrival.

I can’t narrow it down to one flower. My first flower love was daisies. We married in 1972. I had daisies woven into my hair. We spent 20 years in the Air Force in North Dakota. We lived in the country where going to and from the base, we had miles of sunflowers on both sides of the highway. I loved how they followed the sun.

My favorite flower has always been lilacs because they are one of the first flowers of spring. Also, when we’re dating my late husband would pick them off of a bush on base and bring them to me. I had one pressed in a book for fifty years ! It still smelled sweet!!
