Hey, GrayViners!

I still remember a story my family tells: at the start of a movie night at the drive-in, my uncle turned to my aunt and asked her to be his girlfriend. The big screen hadn’t even flickered on yet, but that moment stuck—it turned an ordinary night into something unforgettable.

That memory made me wonder about all of you. So today’s memory-starter is to finish this sentence: My favorite drive-in theater memory is…

Was it a first date under the stars, piling into the car with friends, or a movie you couldn’t forget because of who you watched it with? Share the little details—the popcorn runs, the laughter, the unexpected surprises—that make the memory yours.

Let’s hear it, GrayViners:
What’s your drive-in memory, and what makes it stand out for you?

Warmly,
Sophia

My fondest memory of the drive-in was when my Dad tried to lie about our ages to get us in free and we called him on it, embarassing the Sh#$ out of him. I remember my Mom staring straight ahead and when we got to our spot says, "We taught them not to lie lol"

LOL....weird, I know...but one summer, two buddies and I sneaked into the back of our local drive in through a field that bordered the beck end. We set up lawn chairs at the edge of the field just outside the lights so we would not be discovered. Strange what you'll do for kicks.

I remember going to the drive in with my parents and my cousin. The first movie was the "family" movie which was "Herbie, the Love Bug." Then for the "adult" movie us kids were supposed to go to sleep in the backseat. Yeah right!!! Their movie was "Love Story" and we kept peeking and giggling when there was a kissing scene. Those were good times!

I went to an all night drive in with my sister and her husband. It was a marathon of Planet of the Apes. We had so much fun there. They are both gone now but I still have the fun memories.
